Yammer is a new kind of social network that allows a Twitter/Facebook-like communication style for you and your co- workers. You can share blanket posts/updated, communicate directly, communicate to a group/team, share files, etc.
This creates a fully connected experience, where the entire company is engaging. Communication can be difficult for large organizations because workers are often spread across locations or working from home. Conversely, this can be difficult for SMBs because executives or employees assume that everyone knows what is happening in the organization, which is not always the case.
Yammer also has the familiar feeling of Office 365, with the benefit of being formatted like common social networking platforms.
An organization can have one mass Yammer site and many small ones for individual departments, projects, groups, etc. These teams make it easy to communicate as a whole and individually based on the things workers are interested in. In today’s corporate environment, there are a lot of training opportunities that a company cannot possibly send their employees to all the conferences, networking events, lunch and learns, etc. Yammer is a fantastic way for your employees to disseminate information they have received or found on the internet, giving the entire company the opportunity to share in the learning. Yammer is also incredibly helpful in spreading the word about company events without inundating people with emails. Company meeting? Post it on Yammer. Organizing a softball league? Tell everyone on Yammer? Wondering where the best lunch spots are around the office? Yammer does surveys too.
Yammer is just another way Microsoft is reimaging productivity and empowering their Office 365 users. It’s time to work better, work easier, and work less.

Mary Charuhas has been with KTL since 2013, starting as a sales intern in the summer of 2013 and moving to Business Development and Internal Sales in the spring of 2014. She is currently pursuing her Associate Degree in Business Management from Frederick Community College and hopes to continue her education at the University of Maryland next spring. Mary also possesses several Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM Sales certifications. She manages KTL’s existing customers through providing them with ongoing knowledge of the products, assisting them with upgrades and continuing projects, keeping them informed about updates/new releases, events, and training opportunities. Her charisma and passion for providing excellent customer service make her a valuable asset to KTL’s sales department.
