Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 Released

Microsoft has released their Round 2 update for Dynamics GP 2013 and it is now available for download.  This release follows Microsoft’s previous roadmap announcement and will bring several new previously teased features to the Dynamics GP 2013 platform.

One of the most talked about new features is the ability to perform database backups to Microsoft Azure.  This new feature allows for organizations to perform offsite backups in disaster-recovery scenarios. Before, most Dynamics GP backups were stored on the same disk or computer as the SQL Server putting an organization’s files in danger if there is ever-physical damage to the server.

The workflow system has been redesigned in this release of GP 2013.  This new update removes the traditional dependency on SharePoint allowing users to work strictly from the Microsoft Dynamics GP window. The new system allows users to design workflows such as approval paths for documents in GP as well as approvals for payroll time card , project timesheet, purchase order, and purchase requisition.

Dynamics GP 2013 R2 also has improved interoperability with Lync, Word and Outlook.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Service Pack 3 (SP3) is included in this release. To update your current system contact KTL Solutions at sales@ktlsolutions.com or call at 866-960-0001 to speak with someone today.
