About The Role
KTL Solutions is seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant with hands-on implementation experience in distribution including sales, inventory, warehouse management, and Business Central Projects. Manufacturing experience is a plus.
You will help clients translate business requirements into practical Business Central solutions, guiding them through discovery, configuration, testing, training, and go-live. You will work closely with clients and KTL’s implementation team to improve business processes, support user adoption, and help clients get lasting value from their systems.
What You Will Do
- Lead discovery sessions to understand current processes, identify business needs, and document functional requirements.
- Translate requirements into solution designs, explain configuration options, and identify gaps that may require extensions or integrations.
- Configure Business Central Online for distribution and project-based operations.
- Implement sales and purchasing processes, including orders, pricing, discounts, returns, invoicing, and replenishment.
- Configure inventory processes, including item setup, units of measure, multiple locations, transfers, reservations, lot and serial tracking, inventory counts, and costing.
- Design and configure warehouse workflows, including receiving, put-away, bins, picking, and shipping, using the appropriate level of warehouse functionality for each client.
- Configure Business Central Projects, including project tasks and planning lines, budgets, resources, timesheets, usage, purchasing, billing, and work in process (WIP).
- Work with finance stakeholders to validate posting setups, dimensions, inventory valuation, project accounting, and reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Support data migration through data mapping, preparation, import, validation, and reconciliation.
- Develop test scenarios, guide user acceptance testing, investigate issues, and validate solutions before go-live.
- Create process documentation and deliver practical training for end users and client administrators.
- Coordinate with project managers, developers, and other consultants to communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and scope changes.
- Support cutover, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization, then help clients identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay current with Business Central releases and assess relevant changes for client solutions.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Demonstrated implementation and configuration experience in sales, inventory, and warehouse management.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Business Central Projects and project accounting, including budgeting, resource and item usage, billing, and WIP.
- Experience gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, and translating client needs into functional solutions.
- Understanding how distribution and project transactions affect financial reporting.
- Experience supporting testing, user training, and go-live activities.
- Ability to explain system functionality clearly, facilitate client discussions, and help users adopt new processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage assigned work and collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues in a remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, information systems, computer science, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Business Central manufacturing experience, including production bills of material, routings, work and machine centers, production orders, material and capacity planning, and production costing.
- Advanced warehouse experience, including directed put-away and pick.
- Experience with assembly management, distribution extensions, barcode scanning, shipping solutions, electronic data interchange (EDI), or third-party logistics integrations.
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate.
- Familiarity with Business Central permissions, approval workflows, and Copilot capabilities.
- Experience working in a consulting or Microsoft partner environment.
