To make the transition easier, Microsoft is directing users toward Teams Free, the updated service for personal communication. Users can log into Teams Free with their existing Skype credentials, and much of their data—such as contacts, chat history, Skype credit, and subscriptions—will transfer automatically.
What Won’t Transfer to Teams Free
However, not everything will move over. A few features will be left behind, including:
- Private conversations
- Chats between Skype users and Teams work or school accounts
- Interactions with bots or automated services
